On New Years Eve I played a family dance backing up local artist Michael Brooks. The band was called the Bingo Bongo Boogie Band and featured a bunch of cool friends who happen to be really good players: Lawrence Gillepsie on Keyboards, Jimmy Salt on drums, and Adam Cripps on bass. The theme was Hawaiian and it was the first time I wore an Hawaiian shirt. Sometimes musicians can feel weird about playing music for kids but the hope is that it might inspire a kid to one day to pick up an instrument and start a band. We need that more than ever these days. Anyway, was a fun night and we made the cover of the local paper. Thanks to Vince Federov for taking the pics :) This was our all star band with us older dudes in the background.
